Your First Day In Minecraft : How To Survive

Minecraft is a sandbox construction game where you are thrown into the world and you need to adapt, test and survive. It can be hard and difficult to just get inside, so this tutorial will give you the basics of how to get started and survive your first day in Minecraft.

When you open the game you have a few options to choose from before you start. I’ll pull out the basics, but there’s a lot you can explore while playing yourself.

The first thing you need to decide on is whether you want to play in Survival, Creative, or Hardcore mode.

Survival:

By surviving, you are thrown to the ground and you must protect yourself in order to survive. You can adjust the weight (the weight listed below), and you must collect all the resources you need to survive.

Creative:

You start with everything you can find or do in a game (instead of your design screen you have a selection screen where you can choose what to use). Instead of needing tools to destroy blocks, you can break anything with a single blow. You do not have to worry about food or health bar. You will not die whether you jump off a cliff or walk through mud. Finally, you can fly!

Hardcore:

It's like surviving unless you have a very difficult weight that you can't change. You only have one life to live. Think of it as real life.

Survival Level of Difficulty:

Peaceful -

Very simple, no monsters, you can still get injured and die like falling or trying to walk in the mud. Your food bar will never run out, so you can't eat.

Easy -

Hostile crowds will grow, but they will not hurt you too much. Also, cave spiders cannot poison you at this level. You can survive when the food meter runs out.

Normal -

Hostile crowds breed and will worry you a lot about the damage. At this point, you can still survive when the food ration runs out, but it will drop to half the heart.

Hard -

Haters will breed and cause you great damage in all hardships. If you let your diet go down, your health will slow down until you die. While the doors tend to keep crowds outside, at this level, Zombies can tear down wooden doors.

Time to produce your world!

You never know what it will be like. It may be a desert plain for miles away, you can quickly leave the island surrounded by water, or you can discover a complete land of trees and caves. You will need to adjust your location immediately. Also, be sure to check your step or you can fall into the cave right away. If you are lucky, you will simply take the damage, but you could die or get stuck in a hole without light and without weapons. So watch your step! Wherever you start your birth point. When you die, you will appear back to where you started the game.

The first thing you will want to do, is collect wood. It is a necessary tool and you can easily find it, just buy tree piercing (some resources require some tools to get it).

Just start breaking down all the trees you can.

Sometimes the trees are too high to break all the blocks in the ground. One thing you can do is skip the first block (below) and break the two above. Then you can stand on that block and look up and continue breaking all the stem blocks. When you're done, go downstairs and break the block you're standing on. If you break all the wood in the tree, the leaves will fade slowly and may even drop the stems of planting even apples!

If the tree is too high, you can build a Nerd Pole. A nerd lump is when you look straight down, jump and place a block on the ground to build a pole standing on it. I suggest using dirt as it is easy to destroy. To go down, just look down and break the dirt until you are at ground level.

If you still have wood, you can create an art table. That’s one of the things you can build on your creative art grid (2 by 2) (many things take a grid art channel to create your own).

Creating a Crafting Table:

Insert one piece of wood and this will create wooden planks - 1 Wood Block = 4 Planks

Use 4 planks to make an crafting table - 4 plankd per square = 1 Crafting Table

Once you have an crafingt table, just put it down to use. Now you can create more complex things like tools and weapons.

Once you have the wood, finding / building a shelter is next to knocking on your door.

One of the easiest ways to do this is to find a pile of dirt and dig a hole in it. Dirt is good because you can easily break it with your hands. You can re-enter the stone, but you will need to make a pickax first.

When it gets dark, you will need to enter your shelter. You have to make sure you are not found in the world. Your options are to:

•Completely block them (wood, dirt, stone, etc.)

•Create a door - 6 Wooden wood with two side columns = 1 wood door

•Block yourself out of one block with 1 small can enter

•Cover yourself with glass so you can see the outside (if the glass is set you can only destroy it, you can't break it and put it back), smelt the sand to get the glass.

The wood door will keep everything out of Easy and Normal. At Hard, Zombies will be able to tear down wooden doors.

You can still be shot by an archer or by a 1 by 1 block, so when you leave the opening, make sure you have somewhere to go to your unseen shelter by opening. Also, cave spiders and crowds of children like Zombies can get into a hole if they can reach them.

Time to make tools. Some are used for protection, while others are for the collection of goods.

Before making tools, you need wood (if you make wooden tools) and sticks. Also, when it comes to building Minecraft, placement is important. You can have all the right items stored in the art grid, but if they are not in the right condition, you will not be able to create what you want.

Crafting:

•1 Wood = 4 Planks

•2 Planks (stacked on top of each other) = 4 sticks

•2 Sticks stacked in the middle + 3 wooden planks along the top row = Wooden Pickax

Needed for collecting stone, you can eventually break stone by punching it, but you need a pickax in order to actually collect any cobblestone from it.

•2 Sticks stacked + 1 wood plank on top = Wooden Shovel

Not necessary, but makes breaking dirt, gravel, and sand easier

•1 Stick in the bottom + two Planks stacked on top = Wooden Sword

Protection from mobs and used to kill animals for meat

•8 planks in all spaces except the middle = chest

Not necessary at first, but the as you collect more you will eventually need one for storage.

On your first day of Minecraft, you don’t have to worry about mining, but if you come across coal, it’s a good idea to get some. And it does not hurt to find a stone if you are looking for strong tools.

I order you to dig coal and stones you will need a wooden picket. Once you have collected the stone, you can easily make a stone pickax that you will be able to use to dig the metal.

Light is very important in Minecraft, both being able to detect and prevent hostile crowds from breeding near you. Animals cannot reproduce in the light, so it is important to have light in your shelter.

You have some options depending on whether you were able to get coal on your first date. You will need a wood-burning fireplace if you do not find coal.

•Furnace = 8 Cobblestones in all of the crafting spots except the middle

•Create Sticks from Wooden Planks - 2 Planks (stacked on top of each other) = 4 sticks

•To create your own charcoal, use any type of wood (raw wood, planks, sticks, etc) and put at least one piece in the bottom for fuel and in the top spot. You will be using wood to turn wood into charcoal. Wood has short burn time so you will only be able to create one piece of charcoal per piece of wood.

•Once you have your charcoal or coal stack a piece of either on top of a stick = 4 torches

Once you have installed the app as fuel, it will burn out immediately. The wood burns for a while, but things like coal and mud will burn for a while, and anything you put in it will burn even if you have something you need to cook or smell. So it is good to be prepared with a lot of things to smell or cook. Also, if you want to melt a variety of substances in a row, be sure to remove what you just melted. For example, if you just melted the coals now and want to melt the metal, you need to remove the coals first or there will be no place for something new to go. On the other hand, if you have a metal stack, you can simply place it on top and walk away until it runs out of gas.

You will have to eat. You may not be needed on your first date, but the more you work and work, the less your food will be reduced. There are many things you can eat in the world, but in your first few days you will be limited to apples and meat.

When the leaves on the trees disappear (after destroying the trunk) they sometimes shed apples. If you are lucky you will find one in the tree, so it will be difficult to play this game as a vegetarian when you start.

Another option is meat. Find an animal (cow, pig or chicken, sheep only give you wool) and just bake it until it dies. It's scary, but you have to survive. If you don't have a weapon, it will take a few punches and the animal will run in fear after you hit it for the first time so you may have to chase it down. Try not to hit it in the hole. Killing an animal will give you raw meat. You can eat raw meat, but if you eat raw chicken, you are more likely to get poisonous food.

To cook the meat, just put it in your oven as you would melt something. Use wood or charcoal to cook meat instead of petrol and add raw meat on top.

Everything will fill your hunger bar with a different amount. For example, an apple will trigger 4 starvation (which are two icons in a star bar) and a steak will trigger 8 (raw beef will fill only 3). So it is good to keep track of your meals and what you need in order to make the most of what you have.

Your 10 minutes are up and your first day is over. I hope you haven't moved away from the shelter you created. Time to go inside and lock yourself up at night. It is best to use the night time to do things creatively and bring out your living space (if you are on a mountain). If you have nothing to do, you will have to participate until sunrise. Unless you want to get out and take a stab at the crowd.

If you are lucky enough to find sheep on your first date, you can kill them to collect the wool. If you have wool, you can combine it with planks to make a bed.

•Row of 3 Wool + above a row of 3 Planks = Bed

No matter what color of wool or wood you use, you will always find one bed. Once you are in bed it becomes your new birthplace. So when you die, instead of appearing where you started the game, you will appear in your bed.

Congratulations,A new day!

Don't just walk out of your shelter. Although some animals can survive in the light, they can hide in the shade or stand in the water to prevent flames. If you are on the side of a cliff, something will jump off you as soon as you exit. Some animals can live during the day after giving birth in the dark (such as reptiles and spiders), so you may have something to deal with before you can continue exploring.

I usually walk out of my room looking for anything that might kill me. This also helps to draw things away from your shelter. It can be very frustrating to have a creeper blow you up. Make sure you go back and close the door / lock the door or anything that might get in.

Just be careful and check it out!
